thanks to our partner + funder for their support:
This show marks the return of the beloved Dances for a Small Stage, Vancouver edition.
After a 5 year hiatus, we are really excited to present a diverse ensemble of intergenerational women dance artists, offering a rich tapestry of styles, including contemporary, ballet, hip hop, jazz, tap, musical theatre, modern, flamenco and more.
Dances for a Small Stage showcases dance in an unconventional venue: a renowned distillery in Vancouver's Mount Pleasant, Please! Beverage.
With drinks in hand, our audiences sit back, relax and are engaged by unique, fresh contemporary dance, performed in an exhilarating, hip environment.
Curator notes from JA:
I have invited an incredible line-up of diverse women artists that I am really thrilled about.
I am honoured to have Small Stage veteran Cori Caulfield. Cori was in the very first Dances for a Small Stage back in May 2002 at The Royal. It seems fitting she should return as part of this new adventure.
As for the others in the show, I am beyond excited to share these amazing dance artists with you.
Don’t worry… for those of you die hard fans out there the format will remain the same; short pieces that you can sink your teeth into!
For you newbies out there, I hope you come out and see what you’ve been missing!
Sit back, relax, enjoy a drink and get ready to watch some fantastic dance!
