Rehearsal Director:  Jessica Jone

Dancer:  Emma Lee (Lorita Leung Dance Company)

Notes:

This is a dance of the Dai Ethnic group from Yun nan province in Southwestern China.  Since the Dai people live close to Laos and Myanmar, their dance style shares similarities with Southeast Asian dance aesthetics.

Our soloist, Emma Lee, has been dancing at Lorita Leung Dance Academy for the past 16 years.

With this dance, Emma won the Elite Platinum Award, the top award at the prestigious Taoli World Dance Competition in Los Angeles.

The Taoli World Dance Competition is a well-known Chinese dance competition attended by dancers from all over North America and Asia.
